Unfortunatelly birds stayed away ..and I had to try the digital zoom ...but it was always nice to see species like Podiceps auritus and Circus macrourus ...It looked that Vegoritis lake is still in the winter ...The only song that reminded of spring was that of Crested Lark ..I had a great sighting as he did his display dance but unfortunatelly camera was on George's hands and he was shooting on me (!!!!)
What else we saw today ...a fantastic Goshawk, Accipiter gentilis who had a conflict with a pair of Buzzard ...Over the lake the Harriers, Circus aeroginosus and Circus cyaneus together with Buzzards (Buteo Buteo) was hunting succesfully and had lunch in front of us but they didn;t want to cooperate for photos.
The buntings (E.cirlus, E.schoeniclus) was still on winter uniform ...Meadow pipits were seen too ..Kestrels, Falco tinnunculus were numerous at the fields around ..and the Grebes, Podiceps cristatus had their dances in the lake ..I wish I had some more time ...We stayed around no more than an hour ...I hope you will enjoy the photos as much as you enjoy the snapshots ...
